Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly hails from North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's law practice is centered around family law. She has a love for it. She concentrates a large portion of her practice on divorce cases, alimony disputes divorce property distribution and child custody battles. child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post-divorce enforcement issues as well as step-parent and private party adoptions as well as concerns regarding child welfare. Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. She continued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was ranked among the top 10 students of her class. Ashley was a Note Editor for the Western New England Law Review during her time in law school. This demonstrated her commitment to scholarship and research in the field of law.
After completing her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship journey, working for notable jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She was privileged to be being a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown, Maryland, to serve as an attorney for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. As an associate attorney. Her primary role in the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services on cases involving child welfare. Ashley's dedication to her work were instrumental in helping children who were victims of neglect or abuse at of their caregivers or parents. Her commitment to tackling social injustice was not limited to her legal career as she served as a member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She worked tirelessly to increase awareness about human trafficking within the tri-state region.
In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the fields of family law - divorce custody, child support and guardianships as well in estate planning - wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxies - and mediation.
